book review

A twelve-week cult that demonstrably works, which I find deeply annoying. Its keystone is the ‘morning pages’: three longhand pages every morning, unedited and unjudged, which amount to an apotropaic sigil for your anxiety. You are not writing to be profound; you are escorting the noise out of the driver’s seat before it takes the wheel.
Discard the theology if it is not yours; retain the pages. They remain the nearest thing to a factory reset I have encountered that costs precisely nothing.
this is one entry from a wandering list of films, books, shows and albums, kept by someone trying to live a slightly more deliberate life.
