film review

A penniless dancer of twenty-seven declines, magnificently, to admit that her life is not working, all of it photographed in exultant black and white. Baumbach and Gerwig confer upon the shambles of that age something bordering on beatitude. She is undateable, and so, we are forced to concede, are we.
The rupture of a friendship wounds more grievously than any romance, and nobody thinks to warn you. Tend your friendships with the devotion ordinarily reserved for lovers.
this is one entry from a wandering list of films, books, shows and albums, kept by someone trying to live a slightly more deliberate life.
