film review

Amélie

★★★★☆  film

Amélie

A shy Parisian takes up a covert meliorism, secretly engineering the happiness of strangers so she may keep deferring her own. Twee? Certainly. But the whimsy is armour, and the film, to its credit, quietly knows it.
