album review

Mitski’s diminutive, cinematic compositions explore loneliness and desire through a single paradox: performing wellness while consumed by desolation. ‘Nobody’ casts itself as disco, that engine of collective belonging, while confessing the solitude one conceals on the dancefloor.
One can dwell in loneliness within the very performance of being fine. The mask and the wound interpenetrate; this paradox is the work’s crux.
this is one entry from a wandering list of films, books, shows and albums, kept by someone trying to live a slightly more deliberate life.
