album review

Orchestral, oceanic, and quietly eschatological soft rock about drowning in the present tense while reaching backwards for something older and sturdier. Natalie Mering contrives to sound like the 1970s and the end of the world simultaneously. The correct protocol: put it on, lie down on the floor, and feel enormous feelings on purpose.
Sometimes you require music that is larger than your problem rather than smaller. Let something vast hold the feeling on your behalf for a while.
this is one entry from a wandering list of films, books, shows and albums, kept by someone trying to live a slightly more deliberate life.
